I lead XBOX Security at Microsoft, focusing on safeguarding 20+ studios and safeguarding players by delivering seamless security and staying ahead of emerging threats across our portfolio including Xbox Consoles, Call of Duty, Halo, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush, Minecraft, Fallout, Diablo. Prior to this, I led security practices at AWS, Deloitte, and PwC. 

Fun fact: I am an avid international traveler and have visited over 30 countries across six continents.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

My career has been rooted in multi-cloud security architecture, application security and governance risk frameworks. After earning my BS in Computer Engineering, I spent years tackling complex enterprise risks at Fortune 500 companies as a consultant with PwC and Deloitte. That consulting experience naturally translated into executive leadership at AWS, which ultimately paved the way for my current role securing XBOX ecosystem.
 

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Security must be an enabler, not a blocker. I believe in empowering engineering teams by embedding frictionless, zero-trust security protocols directly into their workflows, fostering a culture where risk management accelerates innovation rather than slowing it down.
 

What is the greatest challenge CISOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

The rapid integration of AI and the sheer complexity of multi-cloud environments are expanding the attack surface faster than traditional defenses can scale.
 

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CISO?

Align your security strategy directly with the business's core objectives. Don't just build a fortress in a silo; understand exactly how your company operates and ensure your security controls protect those critical pathways without adding unnecessary operational friction.
 

How do you measure success as a leader?

I evaluate success through both operational resilience and team empowerment. A successful quarter means we have proactively mitigated risks in our infrastructure while simultaneously developing the autonomy, strategic thinking, and cross-functional influence of the security professionals on my team.
 

What is the value of being a member of Gartner C-level Communities?

It provides a valuable sounding board of executive peers who are navigating similar technological and regulatory shifts. The ability to validate strategies, share unvarnished operational realities, and benchmark our approaches against cross-industry standards is critical for staying ahead of the threat curve.
