Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

In 2019, I relocated to India to become the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Adani Ports & Logistics (XNSE:ADANIPORTS), India's largest integrated Ports and Logistics business, where I led the technology and digital transformation strategy that enabled the business to meet its ambitious growth targets.

Prior to Adani, I held the position of Global IT Director for Maersk APM Terminals, based in the Netherlands, with responsibility for the IT Strategy and Service Delivery to 42 ports/terminals across the globe with significant P&L responsibility within a 4.5 billion USD business.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Empower your people.

With disruption being a key theme of recent years, where do you see the CIO role going in the next 1-2 years?

The CIO has to evolve into a business leader that enables the business to reimagine the traditional business models.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a CIO?

Business first, technology second.
