Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

My career has been shaped by a deep passion for building technology organizations that drive business performance at scale. I started as a software engineer at IBM, supporting enterprise systems, and moved into leadership roles at Hitachi, HGST, and Western Digital, where I led major global integrations and cloud transformation initiatives. Each role expanded my responsibility for aligning technology with business strategy and operational efficiency. These experiences prepared me to lead GE HealthCare’s global IT organization through a period of digital modernization, data standardization, and enterprise-wide transformation.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Lead with clarity and accountability. I believe in setting clear expectations, empowering teams to make decisions, and holding ourselves accountable for delivering measurable results. Effective leadership means simplifying complexity and building trust through consistent, disciplined execution.

What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

The biggest challenge for CIOs today is balancing modernization with reliability. At GE HealthCare, we are advancing cloud, AI, and automation capabilities while maintaining the stability required to support a highly regulated global healthcare business. Through strong governance, standardized platforms, and a disciplined operating model, we’re able to accelerate innovation without compromising security, compliance, or operational excellence.

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?

Understand the business before defining the technology strategy. Build strong relationships with executive peers, communicate priorities with clarity, and focus on outcomes that drive measurable value. A successful CIO listens actively, sets a clear direction, and executes with discipline and consistency.

How do you measure success as a leader?

I measure success by how effectively technology supports the company’s strategic goals—whether through cost reduction, process efficiency, or enhanced business agility. Success also comes from building strong, capable teams who take ownership and deliver results that make a meaningful impact on the business.
