With more than 25 years of experience in Information Technology, I have held leadership roles across Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Executive IT Management. My career has included serving as Chief Architect, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and now Chief Information Officer (CIO), where I focus on aligning technology strategy with business objectives, modernizing platforms, and building high-performing teams. I am passionate about leveraging technology and innovation to deliver secure, scalable, and business-focused outcomes.

Fun Fact: I traded the hustle of London for life in the Florida Everglades. After moving from one of the world's largest cities to South Florida, my daily surroundings have gone from red buses and the London Underground to alligators and wetlands.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Focus on outcomes, simplify relentlessly. I believe technology leaders create the most value when they align decisions to business objectives, build accountability into everything they do, and remove unnecessary complexity through standardization and automation.
 

What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

The biggest challenge I face as CIO is leading organizational change while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value. At the same time, we're navigating the rapid evolution of AI, growing cybersecurity threats, and an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. My approach is to maintain strong alignment between technology and business strategy, establish clear outcome-based measures for investments, and embed security, resilience, and governance into every initiative from the start.
 

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?

The key to success is making the transition from technology leader to business leader. That means developing a deep understanding of the business, building strong relationships across the organization, balancing innovation with risk management, and ensuring every technology investment is tied to a clear business outcome.
 

How do you measure success as a leader?

I measure success by the success of my team and the value we create for the business. If we are developing great people, delivering meaningful business outcomes, and earning the trust of our stakeholders, I consider that success.
 

What is the value of being a member of Gartner C-level Communities?

The greatest value of being a member of Gartner C-level Communities is the opportunity to build trusted relationships with peers facing many of the same challenges. The ability to exchange experiences, learn from one another's successes and lessons learned, and discuss emerging trends with fellow leaders provides valuable perspective and helps drive better decisions.
