MAY 2, 2023

We are so excited to kick off our upcoming regional Executive Summits in May and June! With today’s rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape, it’s more critical than ever to come together to share challenges, celebrate success, make new connections and learn from each other.

Since December, Evanta has been meeting with our Governing Body Members to tap into their top business priorities and ensure our first gatherings of 2023 are the most valuable place to learn from peers and industry leaders.

Understanding these key areas helps Evanta create well-rounded gatherings that are timely and relevant for CISOs and their teams. Bringing together these peers, thought leaders and solution providers in one space helps create a secure community of like-minded individuals who can effectively collaborate on tools and best practices.

Here’s a sneak peek of six of the exciting sessions and speakers we are hosting at North American Summits in the coming months.

  1. Lessons Learned – Practical Cloud Security Strategies at the Atlanta CISO Executive Summit

Bob Varnadoe, CISO at NCR and Jamil Farshchi, CISO at Equifax, have proven strategies to guide their organization’s cloud priorities. Cloud strategies must ensure successful business outcomes and bring in the right mix of security capabilities, but the question is “what is truly practical?” These CISOs will share their experiences implementing proven cloud strategies.

  1. SECuring Success — Navigating Cybersecurity and Governance Requirements at the Dallas CISO Executive Summit

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken a leading role in shaping cybersecurity and governance regulations in the US. With new regulations on the docket, executives and board members are asking what and where their liability lies. A session with Todd Baker, Senior Counsel at the SEC, is on the docket to discuss the upcoming regulations.

  1. Enabling Hypergrowth Securely – Enterprise Use Cases for Generative AI at the San Francisco CISO Executive Summit

As with any new tool, like generative AI, the obvious question for CISOs is always, "Is it worth the risk?" One company that said “yes” is Navan, which integrated ChatGPT into its online travel and expense platform earlier this year. In this session, leaders from Navan's security, engineering and communications teams share how they’re balancing security and business needs when developing policies and controls for generative AI.

  1. Weaponize Risk Appetite to Drive Risk Decisions at the Houston CISO Executive Summit

Paul Proctor, distinguished VP analyst at Gartner, is hosting a keynote in Houston on how CISOs can reposition their risk appetite in the context of investment and value delivery to create a measurable scale of risk. He’ll look at the outcome-driven metrics of cybersecurity and how CISOs can work with their board to design a cybersecurity investment strategy that drives business outcomes.

  1. A CISO’s Plan – The Future for the Cybersecurity Expert at the St. Louis CISO Executive Summit

Gartner Research says that by 2026, 70% of boards will include one member with cybersecurity experience. With SEC rules and regulations constantly changing, this panel featuring Alan Berry, VP & CISO, Centene Corporation, Erica Wilson, VP, CISO, Reinsurance Group of America and Andrew Wilder, Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, Hillenbrand will focus on how executives are navigating the future of the evolving regulatory environment.

  1. Building for the Future — How CIOs and CISOs are Winning Together at the Denver CISO Executive Summit

When CIO and CISO partnerships are aligned, the business is better able to push critical initiatives forward. The key to a successful information security program starts with effective communication and a comprehensive IT strategy that is aligned with risk and threat management. This keynote with Diego Silva, CIO, Gates and Craig Buesing, CISO, Gates will highlight how they've worked together to create a successful partnership.

Attending an Evanta security summit is vital for meaningful peer and industry connections. These gatherings bring together the top CISOs to collaborate on new and innovative ideas, and gain insights into top priorities and challenges throughout various organizations.
