OCTOBER 11, 2022

In the first half of 2022, almost 1,000 CISOs came together in-person across 17 programs to participate at exclusive Evanta Executive Summits and intimate Inner Circle Dinners. These gatherings were packed with exceptional speakers, influential security leaders, and trusted vendor partners. All came together to share challenges, celebrate success, make new connections and learn from each other.

Over the summer, Evanta has continued to connect with our Governing Body Members to understand their mission critical priorities and ensure our fall gatherings remain the most valuable place to learn from peers and industry leaders.

Below are four of the exciting sessions and speakers CISOs across North America are looking forward to attending.

  1. The Global CISO Executive Summit kicks off on October 12th with three days of in-person collaboration and networking. A highlight of the gathering is a keynote led by Rich Agostino, SVP & Chief Information Security Officer, and Jodie Kautt, VP, Cybersecurity at Target. They will be sharing how Target merged teams and is enabling the business by leveraging advanced cyber capabilities to protect customers, improve user experience, and drive growth.
  2. Zero Trust continues to come up as a critical topic, and Dallas Governing Body member George Finney, Chief Security Officer at Southern Methodist University, is sharing strategic insights from his new book “Project Zero Trust” with his peers at the Dallas CISO Executive Summit.
  3. As the competition for talent has been a widespread challenge for organizations, CISOs are telling us they’re thinking about their own career moves, too. In San Francisco, to uncover how CISOs can continue to elevate their careers, Jeff Trudeau, CISO at Chime, and Colin Anderson, SVP, CISO, at Ceridian will share how they landed their first board seats, and what organizations are looking for from a board member with a security background.
  4. As the government and regulatory agencies continue to have more oversight of cybersecurity incidents, the New York CISO Executive Summit is addressing key strategies for compliance in their closing keynote. Tod Mitchinson, VP, Chief Information Security Officer at New York Life, and Leon Flaksin, Head Enterprise Risk Management at BlackRock Inc., will share their insight on the impact of the proposed regulatory changes and how to navigate through the regulatory waters.

Fostering Friendship & Community

Beyond solving business challenges together, these gatherings are about fostering friendship and community. It’s rare to get such a distinguished group of cybersecurity professionals together to share common interests and goals. These communities are excited to share what they’ve learned with their peers, and they care about each other’s successes and failures.

Here are a couple of my favorite testimonials from the Executive Summits earlier this year.

These events are so valuable because of the people who attend and share their experiences with the group. I believe we are all struggling with the same issues and need to find ways to fix them using experiences from these connections made during these events.”

A fantastic experience with engaging and meaningful discussions! I also really enjoy the mix of presentations, panel discussions, and boardrooms because it keeps the experience fresh and offers varied avenues to discuss topics.”
