Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
Focusing on team culture, continuous improvement, effective and efficient solutions, alignment with company strategy, and leading in industry trends has led me to my current role. These characteristics have been foundational to my career.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
“Assume positive intent” is such an essential philosophy for teams to master.
With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CISO going in the next 1-2 years?
The CISO role is an unusual mix of business and technology. I see this role as a risk advisor/guide for senior executives, a motivator/enabler for the information security organization, a leader influencing industry trends, and a driving force for automating/embedding security into all-things IT to create speed-to-value for business solutions.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CISO?
Develop a strong peer network.
