Gianetta Jones is the Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. 

In her current role, Gianetta oversees several departments within UNITED, including Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Culture & Engagement, and Learning & Organizational Development. She also serves as the executive sponsor for UNITED’s Associates First Council and Women’s Leadership Council.

A fun fact about Gianetta, she loves to entertain, play cards and spoil her 6 grandchildren, 4 dogs and 7 cats… “Yes, I love my fur babies immensely!”

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I began my career with Coca-Cola in April 2007 as the Human Resources Director for Coca-Cola UNITED’s East Region. In 2015, I advanced to Corporate Human Resources Director, followed by promotion to Vice President of Human Resources in 2018. I was appointed Chief People Officer in 2020 and subsequently became Senior Vice President in 2022.
 

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Always focus on cultivating our Associates First Culture in every business and HR decision we make here at Coca-Cola United.
 

What is the greatest challenge CHROs face today, and how are you addressing it?

The greatest challenge CHROs face is anticipating business challenges and how HR can pivot to support our leaders and most importantly our associates. Weekly ELT calls and local partnerships within our locations are key to staying aligned with our business leaders on what is top of mind.
 

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CHRO?

Continuous learning and identifying friction points within your HR functions and collaborating with your team to solve better ways of working.
 

How do you measure success as a leader?

Having a high degree of trust among my HR leadership team which creates a high performing HR team that is collaborative and delivers on our HR strategic initiatives.
