Formerly advising CXOs as a Big 4 management consultant, Viral has led large transformations, fostered high-performing multi-cultural teams, and developed innovative solutions leveraging Cloud, Data, and AI technologies. His strong academic background includes an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge (UK), degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, and several IT certifications.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
After three decades of technology leadership and management consulting experience at a Big 4, it was time to take the reins. I joined the firm as a CTO to drive digital transformation. After successfully navigating the firm through several crises, and developing a transformation roadmap that delivered robust growth, I was challenged with the responsibilities of a Global CIO.
What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today?
With the convergence of business and technology, there is only one strategy. Technology is the must have tool to execute the strategy that will deliver sustainable growth. In addition to being tech-savvy, CIO/CTO’s need to be business leaders and lead from the front.
What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?
Be your authentic self, and be a student of the firm as well as your craft.
