Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
Ever since graduating, I have been deeply immersed in the world of technology. My journey began as a developer, where I discovered my passion for understanding business challenges and translating them into effective solutions. Embracing new opportunities and a commitment to continuous learning, I transitioned from a development-focused role to broader positions that emphasized analytics, enterprise applications, infrastructure and ultimately led me to the role of CIO.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Always keep learning, as there's a solution to every problem. Embrace change, for it is the only constant.
What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today, and how are you addressing it?
The rate of change in technology is increasing especially in areas of AI and Quantum computing. Our world of securing identity/data and transactions is going to get upended, and we need to plan ahead and act fast before we are forced to make it happen – which is what I am partnering with my team and extended teams to overcome.
What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?
Never presume to know everything; keep an open mind and embrace ideas and continuous learning. Cultivate relationships and foster trust with your team and peers while staying committed to achieving results.
How do you measure success as a leader?
If you are recognized as a leader who consistently delivers results while nurturing your team to evolve into the next generation of leaders.
