Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

In 2011, I joined Aon’s Centre for Innovation & Analytics in Dublin to build a bridge between business units and this newly established Centre of Excellence. Having experienced before what our clients and colleagues need to make better decisions, I was fascinated by the opportunity presented by new data and analytics capabilities. I have since implemented processes and tools necessary for data and analytics business innovation and application.

Building on these experiences, I took on the CDO role to create data capabilities enabling colleague and client value strategies.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

“To lead is to serve” – in any organisation, the long-term success depends on leaders empowering and supporting others to become the best they can be.

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

My role will continue to evolve with changing client needs. My focus will be determined by whatever is needed to help them make better decisions.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?

Understand how data drives decisions for colleagues and clients. Furthermore, assess the level of data maturity in your organisation to educate your investment of time and effort.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. I have always loved racket sports.
  2. I like to discover new places with my family.
  3. On my birthdays, I try to do something that I have not done before.
