Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

It all started with a choice: choose the “red pill” which was IT or choose the “blue pill” and remain in actuarial science. And so began an exciting journey that continues to satisfy my inner cravings - to always be challenged, to always learn, and to always make a difference no matter your role.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Transparency of thought and opinion. Don’t BS. People might not like the message, but they will appreciate the honesty.

With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CIO going in the next 1-2 years?

Helping organizations to stay present in the future. We can only do this if we truly act as organizational leaders, not just technology leaders.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CIO?

Observe through continuously listening to as many people as you can – within your organization and industry, as well as partners and clients. As Sherlock Holmes said - ”A good detective knows that every task, every interaction, no matter how seemingly banal, has the potential to contain multitudes.”

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  • I’m addicted to chocolate.
  • Horror movies scare the bejesus out of me.
  • I’ve kept my “offline” music collection of vinyl records, cassette tapes and CDs.

What is the value of joining an Evanta community?

“It takes a village to raise a child.” The Evanta community is our village. Even though the organizations we work at might be direct competitors; as a community of leaders sharing knowledge, ideas, and thoughts; we are all stronger because of it.

Evanta Governing Body members share their insights and leadership perspectives to shape the agendas and topics that address the top priorities impacting business leaders today.
