Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I started my career at Grifols in Dublin, Ireland, where I started up the best-in-class plasma purification manufacturing plant. I then relocated to San Francisco to lead the Diagnostics Division. After that, I moved to the Plasma collections Business Unit as Head of HR for the US and later Global Head of HR for the Plasma collections & BioSupplies business units.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Diversity the guiding leadership principle that is most important for me. A diverse team makes the organization stronger, more agile and better prepared to face the world's dynamism.

With disruption being a key theme of recent years, where do you see the CHRO role going in the next 1-2 years?

I see myself taking even more responsibility and facing even more exciting challenges.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a CHRO?

Ensure you have the right team to face the challenge (otherwise make the necessary changes), be transparent with your Senior Executives and take some quick actions that set the pace of your administration.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. What I enjoy the most is spending time with my partner, family and friends (as a good Spaniard).
  2. I play the saxophone.
  3. I love hiking.
