Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I started in networking, and since the late 1990s I have fully focused on information security.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

My guiding leadership principles are Truth, Trust and Transparency.

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CISO going in the next 1-2 years?

In the next 1-2 years, we will be building a security and privacy program for domestic retailers, and eventually, we will be expanding on stores globally.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CISO?

Start with a risk assessment of your security and privacy program, and then build on improving any lacking processes, procedures and technology as needed.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

I love to shop, travel and binge watch network series.
