Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

Very early in my career I realized that data will play a pivotal role in the complex world. As my starting point, I have taken up numerous complex real life problems and solved them with a data driven mindset.

After doing a few small gigs, I joined Adobe for an exciting journey moving from perpetual to subscription business model, leveraging data as a strategic asset in all aspects for over 15 years. Very recently, I have developed a passion to transform, grow and disrupt other verticals, and I recently joined Elavon, a fintech company.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

People are the true intellectual assets for any organization, especially in the age of AI-everything. Leading with empathy, inclusion and diversity will be a key leadership  differentiator.

With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

Data and analytics executives will go beyond internal data management to envision and build customer facing monetizable data products. CDAOs will play a more active role in business growth, customer experience and satisfaction improvement will have to meet a set number of targets every year leveraging data as a resource.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?

Develop a deep sense of cognitive empathy for your stakeholders and customers!

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. Love spending time with my 8 month old son - Vedansh Reddy.
  2. I enjoy listening to a lot of podcasts and working out a few hours every week.
  3. I enjoy experimenting and investing in new ideas that make a valuable difference.
