Sriram Sirisinahal is an accomplished digital, data & analytics leader with more than 18 years of experience across sectors including Financial Services, CPG, Digital Advertising and Technology. He is currently the Head of Corporate Data for Unity Technologies, the world’s leading platform for creating and operating interactive, real-time 3D (RT3D) content.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
Data influenced every inflection point in my career. I started as a software engineer working on front-end web applications, but I kept getting pulled towards data related issues so I slowly gravitated towards data architecture, business intelligence and then leading data and analytics functions.
I have always enjoyed solving tough problems in the intersection of business and technology with data as a common theme. In my current role at Unity, I lead a team responsible for driving the enterprise data strategy that enables corporate functions and business teams to achieve faster outcomes.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Empathy, trust and integrity are three key attributes that I look for in leaders.
With disruption being a key theme of recent years, where do you see the CDAO role going in the next 1-2 years?
The CDAO is playing a bigger role in driving strategic priorities across all industries. Investment in data functions have increased as companies have started to realize the benefits and competitive edge that data can provide. Over the next few years, I expect data leaders to take increased responsibility for coming up with innovative approaches that drive P&L growth.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a CDAO?
Spend some time building connections in the data community. There is probably at least one other person who may have faced similar challenges.

- I enjoy spending time with my kids. One of our favorite activities is playing video games.
- When I face a tough problem, sleep is my secret to finding a solution.
- I find cooking very relaxing and therapeutic.
