Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

Prior to my role as the Head of Data at Cricut, I worked for Samsung in a data leadership role. Over the course of my career, I have developed a deep expertise in building scalable data platforms and in-house Customer Data Platforms (CDP), product analytics and digital analytics.

What are your guiding leadership principles?

Empower your team, and encourage team achievements instead of personal achievements.

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

Every company is looking at data as an asset to achieve competitive advantage. With so much growth and hype in data, new technologies are always being developed. As a data leader, it is important to align data strategy with the company goals and leverage technology as an enabler to achieve goals and not be distracted.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?

You must find the balance between long term initiatives and getting quick wins for the team. It is important to continuously deliver value to the stakeholders.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. By 12th grade, I studied in 8 different schools.
  2. I am a marathon runner.
  3. I enjoy exploring different flavors of beer.
