Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I started my career in the information management space working on customer marketing models and platforms to improve direct marketing outcomes. Overtime, I moved into core risk management and commercial underwriting for a small business portfolio at American Express. My background and experience led me to my current opportunity at Wolters Kluwer to build the data science and operational excellence function for Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).

My team has created the analytical data foundation, a machine learning environment, reusable AI capabilities and multiple data products. These capabilities and platforms have been used to transform old processes into machine-aided, human expert-based operating centers of excellence for compliance, fulfillment and legal spend.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

My guiding principle is to lead with empathy. I try to put myself in my employees’, business partners’ or customers’ shoes to understand their perspectives and use that learning to communicate.

With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

I see my role more focused on building resiliency and reliance in our operations along with reimaginings (segmenting fulfillment, scaling of AI-enabled product extensions) using data.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the CDAO role?

Build a diverse team coming from different experiences and backgrounds. Listen to your team first, and try not to provide solutions right away in a meeting.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. I like to binge on historical shows like "The Toys that Built America."
  2. I like to go on hikes with family and friends.
  3. On my first day in New York City, I  saw the NY Giants Super Bowl parade.
