Genevy Dimitrion is responsible for leading the next-generation enterprise data function at Humana to collect, manage, protect and drive impact from their comprehensive data assets. Her responsibilities include organizing for successful data governance and stewardship, establishing best practices in data management, strategic acquisition of additional data assets, making it easier for associates and partners to find data, ensuring capabilities are in line with evolving legislation, employing AI-based methods to protect identity, and increasing data mobility and quality.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I have 25+ years of experience working across the Financial Services and Healthcare industries. Some key areas of focus include Global Product/Platform Management, Data Governance and Management and Automation through enabling industry standards. I’m an effective leader with a focus on growing diverse talent.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Empowerment.
With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?
Growth and accountability for associates.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?
Practice active listening skills. Understand the complexity of the role and that one-size does not fit all. And find willing partners who want to "join the movement."
