Expand Session Description
Fundamental changes in healthcare demand a transformation of the information technology systems supporting our industry. The new frontier of personalized medicine will bring a flood of data to organizations, and the digital revolution in health records has significant implications for how providers and researchers interact with IT systems daily. Improperly managed IT systems can drain resources, and compromise security and productivity. The first step in designing a sustainable IT system is to talk candidly about connectivity challenges, the lack of collaboration between institutions that share data, and other common roadblocks to optimizing IT systems. In this panel discussion, senior executives and IT leaders will discuss why interconnectivity persists as an organizational challenge, and what chairs and chiefs can do to prepare for the IT needs of the future.
