Peter Tingling is the founder and CEO of Octothorpe Software Corporation - A Decision Sciences Company, and an Assistant Professor of Business at Simon Fraser University.
Originally trained as a programmer, Tingling has more than two decades of senior line and staff positions including strategist in the executive offices of a big 5 Canadian bank and consultant with a global professional services firm. His clients have included Fortune 1000, start-ups, and governments across North America.
Holder of a 2004 Literati research award and the 2007 TD Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award, Dr. Tingling has published practitioner and academic articles and been quoted in the popular press including the Strategic News Service where he was referred to as "far seeing and insightful". He currently teaches Managing Operational Risk in the Master of Financial Risk Management at the Segal Graduate School of Business and Critical Issues in MIS in the Honours semester in Sustainability.
Dr. Tingling holds a Ph.D. (organizational and technological decision making) from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
