  Heather Campbell is Vice President and CIO for Canadian Pacific. Prior to her current position, she was Chief Operating Officer, IT Division, Barclays PLC, Global Retail & Commercial Bank based in the U.K. Campbell has held executive and senior management positions in technology with BMO Financial Group, Rogers Communications Inc. and CIBC. She has an Executive M.B.A. from Queens University and is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Corporate Governance College.

• Douglas Churchill

  Douglas Churchill is the VP & GM of Canada and is based out of Verizon's Toronto, Ontario office. Churchill leads the country in the creation of strategic solutions that include cross-functional teams with a specific focus on the financial and energy vertical industries in Canada. Churchill joined Verizon in 2009 with responsibility for the continued expansion of Verizon's business in Canada. In his role Churchill also addresses the complex challenges facing Canadian companies currently in the process of taking their businesses global.

  Prior to Verizon, Churchill held various leadership positions with Computer Associates and Sybase. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Economics from Memorial University and a Master's of Business Administration from Saint Mary's University.

• Catherine Claiter - Larsen

  Catherine Claiter-Larsen joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in 2005 as Chief Information Officer.

  Claiter-Larsen has broad experience in health information management strategic planning, senior IM/IT management and clinical change management. She is known in the health informatics industry for her knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) solutions and her commitment to capacity building through leadership development.

  Prior to joining the Vancouver Island Health Authority, Claiter-Larsen held a senior management role with Courtyard Group, a professional services firm dedicated to healthcare. In this role, she was a trusted advisor to client executive and senior management teams in both the public and private sector on EHR solution development and competitive positioning. Claiter-Larsen previously held the role of Director, Information Management at the Kingston General Hospital in Kingston, Ontario and was the Manager of Program Planning at the University Health Network in Toronto, Ontario.

  Claiter-Larsen holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Information Science from the University of Victoria and is actively involved in a number of national health informatics committees and organizations.

• Nick Curalli

  Nick joined London Drugs more than 15 years ago as Corporate Project Manager. He was promoted to General Manager of IT in 1999 and became part of the Executive Committee in 2004. Nick holds a teaching degree from the University of British Columbia and has a background in project management and sales. Nick is also the company’s Chief Privacy Officer, as well as being the Executive Manager for TLD Computers.

• Kerrie Holley

  Kerrie Holley, IBM Fellow, is the Global CTO for AIS responsible for executive technical leadership to AIS in client projects, strategic initiatives, assets, offerings, methods and tools. He is also CTO role for IBM SOA Center of Excellence. In 2006, Kerrie was appointed to Fellow, IBM’s highest technical leadership position. It is the highest honor a scientist, engineer, or programmer at IBM can achieve. The Fellows program was founded in 1962 by Thomas J. Watson, Jr., as a way to promote creativity among the company’s ‘most exceptional’ technical professionals. The criteria for appointment are stringent and take into account only the most significant technical achievements. Since 1963, 218 IBM Fellows have been appointed.

  His expertise centers around software engineering, business architecture, service oriented architecture, cutting-edge distributed solutions. His responsibilities include technical leadership, oversight, strategy development, consulting and software architecture for a portfolio of projects around the world.

  Holley is an author and IBM Master Inventor and holds several patents. He has a B.A. in Mathematics from DePaul University and a J.D. from DePaul School of Law.

• Donald R. Lindsay

  Donald R. Lindsay was appointed President of Teck in January 2005 and assumed the additional responsibility of Chief Executive Officer in April 2005. Before joining Teck, Lindsay was President of CIBC World Markets and led the bank’s Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the Asia Pacific Region. Earlier in his career he was responsible for CIBC’s Global Mining Group. Lindsay has a B.S. in Mining Engineering from Queens University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

  Lindsay is currently a Governor of the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation in Vancouver and is also Chair of the Campaign for B.C. Children, a capital campaign that aims to raise $200M to build a new acute care hospital. Lindsay was a member of the United Way’s Major Individual Giving Cabinet in Toronto for several years and has also been the division chair for Natural Resources for the United Way of the Lower Mainland in British Columbia. In his capacity as Chair of the International Zinc Association, Lindsay has been actively involved in launching the Zinc Saves Kids campaign, a program developed in partnership with UNICEF designed to address zinc deficiency, which claims the lives of as many as 450,000 children annually around the world.

• Kip Morison
  CTO British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority
  
  

  Kip Morison has more than 30 years of experience in the electric utility business and is currently the Chief Technology Officer for BC Hydro in Vancouver. He holds Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and from 1979 — 1992 worked in for Ontario Hydro in Toronto as a transmission system planner specializing in advanced stability and control of power systems. In 1993 he relocated to Vancouver and became the Director of Power System Technologies at Powertech Labs, the technology subsidiary of BC Hydro, where he managed a business unit providing international consulting services in the field of power system design, operation, technology innovation and equipment testing. In 2008 he joined the British Columbia Transmission Corporation (BCTC) as Manager of Long Term Planning and Research & Development. With the merger of BCTC and BC Hydro in 2010, Morison became the Chief Technology Officer for BC Hydro. Morison is a registered professional engineer in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario and is a member of IEEE and CIGRE.

• Sumit Oberai

  Sumit Oberai is the CIO at Indigo Books & Music where he has responsibility for all IT functions. Since joining Indigo in 2006, Oberai has overseen a number of critical technology initiatives including innovative kiosks, an online community for book lovers, an upgrade to Indigo’s SAP ERP system, customer loyalty and industry compliance efforts (ISBN, PCI). Current initiatives include the introduction of eBooks and eReading to Indigo, a new warehouse management system and a new online site experience.

  Prior to Indigo, Oberai worked at McKinsey & Company, Critical Path and Nortel Networks. He holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD, a Master’s in Engineering from University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Queen’s University.

• Julias Pataky
  VP Asset Management British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority
  
  

  Julius Pataky was appointed Vice-President, Asset Investment Management, T&D, for BC Hydro July 2010 following the integration of BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC) into BC Hydro. He held various leadership positions in the BCTC after joining the corporation in 2004 and most recently was the Vice-President of System Planning & Asset Management.

  Prior to joining BCTC, Pataky spent six years in management consulting with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as Senior Manager, Energy & Utilities providing services to companies and governments around the world. Before consulting, he worked with the ATCO Group of companies in Calgary, where he held various management leadership roles, ending in the position of Senior Manager, Gas Supply.

  Pataky is active on the Members Representative Committee of NERC (North America Electric Reliability Corporation), on the Executive Council of the Transmission Owners & Operators Forum and on the Canadian National Committee of Cigre (International Council on Large Electric Systems).

  Pataky earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from UBC and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia.

• Parag Patel
  VP, Global Strategic Alliances VMware, Inc.
  
  

  Parag Patel is Vice President of VMware’s Global Strategic Alliances Organization. He is responsible for building and managing VMware’s partner ecosystem. This encompasses a wide variety of technology vendors spanning joint collaboration on product integrations, go-to-market programs and business alignment. He previously held executive sales and marketing positions at Bowstreet Software and Trilogy Software.

  Patel earned a B.A.S. in Electrical Engineering and History from Stanford University as well as an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He has served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa, where he worked on rural development projects such as farm cooperatives. Patel is a recent Term Member of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and a Fellow with the Asia Society, New York.

• Dennis Self

  Dennis Self is the CIO for Electronic Arts. Previously, Self served as the lead for Electronic Art's Europe IT and Asia IT teams from 2005 - 2007.
  Prior to joining Electronic Arts, Self held various positions at HP, and worked as an IT strategy consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), A.T. Kearney and Deloitte Consulting.
  Self holds a B.S. from Old Dominion University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

• Don Stuckert

  Don Stuckert has more than 30 years of business and technology leadership experience throughout North America. He has held executive positions in a broad range of industries and worked for Placer Dome, TELUS, Sierra Systems and Systemhouse (now part of HP/EDS).

  Stuckert is currently VP and CIO at BC Hydro and is responsible for business process, information technology, telecommunications and security. BC Hydro is currently implementing a strategic technology plan for addressing the future utility operating environment of the smart grid. He is also Chair of the Technology Board Committee of the Canadian Electrical Association.

  His community involvement has included BC Children’s Hospital, BCIT Business Advisory, Heart Fund, BC Cancer Society and the 2009 World Police and Fire games.

• Terry G. Tyler
  EVP, CTO & CIO ENMAX Corporation
  
  

  As CTO, Terry G. Tyler is responsible for ENMAX Corporation’s long-range industry vision, including screening and evaluating technologies for their potential applicability. As CIO, Tyler is responsible for strategic process transformation and the efficient and effective use of information within ENMAX. He also oversees the regulated and retail billing and customer care functions.

  Prior to joining ENMAX in 2008, Tyler held executive roles at Tennessee Valley Authority, IBM Business Consulting Services, Florida Power Corporation and Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant. He also formed and co-owned a successful consulting company, Energex, which was the program manager for the Three Mile Island Industry Degraded Core Rulemaking program for Department of Energy (DOE) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

  Tyler holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Management and a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee and is a licensed professional engineer. He speaks regularly on the future of the energy and utilities industry. He currently serves on the advisory board to the College of Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee. Tyler is DOE Management Oversight and Risk Tree and Accident Investigation Certified.
