Allen Fazio is VP of strategic technology planning for Disney Theme Parks & Resorts worldwide. Fazio leads teams focused on linking business strategy with technology solutions to achieve the goals of Disney’s global theme parks. “Giving our guests faster and better access to the fun is the centerpiece of our technology investment strategy.”
As a 19-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company, he previously served as the CIO of the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney Imagineering and led the technology team for Disney Cruise Line. Prior to joining Disney, Fazio was a CPA with Coopers and Lybrand.
Fazio is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and received his MBA from Webster University.

Chris Filandro

As VP and CIO of Meritage Homes, Chris Filandro is responsible for all aspects of the Information Services organization including application, infrastructure, security and service and support throughout the organization. Filandro has been with Meritage Homes since 2004 where he has led the organization through critical reshaping and realignment of information systems utilized throughout the organization. The result has been a complete consolidation of operating divisions into a single corporate entity that utilizes systems and services to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Filandro continues to drive the strategic efforts at Meritage Homes to complete the comprehensive set of business tools including financial management, homebuilding operations management, sales contract management, lead and prospect management, design center options management and business intelligence. These solutions are delivered through a host of application sets which are all integrated to deliver the maximum benefit to the organization while maintaining strong cost effectiveness. The business has been able to leverage these solutions in order to make critical decisions about the homebuilding market and respond quickly to adjust to market trends.
Filandro holds an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s of science in business from Western International University where he graduated cum laude. Filandro is also an Adjunct Professor teaching graduate and undergraduate finance, information technology, management and general business for Western International University. Filandro is a member of the Arizona State University Information Systems Professional Advisory Board.

Bob Frank

Bob Frank is former CISO at Apollo Group, the parent company of higher education institutions servicing North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. University holdings include the University of Phoenix, the largest university in the world with nearly half a million students.
Frank carried responsibilities for interfacing with business lines to ensure the information security program is closely aligned with business objectives and goals. He also drove compliance of business processes with internal and external security policies and regulations.
Frank has a B.S. in general engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an M.S. in business policy (executive MBA) from Columbia University, NY.

Travis Garriss

Travis Garriss is the vice president of IT infrastructure and application operations for Honeywell Aerospace, where he leads the teams responsible for the entire spectrum of technology support. His diverse background spans 20 years in IT. In 2009 Garriss assumed the role of Honeywell’s vice president of IT procurement. He was further promoted to run the corporate infrastructure team in January of 2011. He joined Aerospace at the start of 2012. Prior to joining Honeywell, Garriss worked for DHL. He is originally from Oklahoma and holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Excelsior.

David Gillman

David Gillman is senior manager of information security at AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange and has more than 25 years’ experience in the information security field in intrusion prevention systems; threat, vulnerability & penetration testing; computer investigations and forensics; security incident management and response; network security; and data loss prevention in the commercial and government sectors.
Gillman is a former U.S. Air Force senior non-commissioned officer who had special assignments with the National Security Agency, Embassy of the United States and Joint U.S. Military Mission for Aid to Turkey. His military decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals and two Air Force Commendation Medals.
Gillman joined AAA soon after retiring from the U.S. Air Force where he built a rigorous and proactive continuous security monitoring program that has resulted in significant improvements in the security posture of the company. In addition, he developed a strategy to improve AAA’s Cyber Defense architecture and capabilities by successfully leading a redesign of the Intrusion Detection Program and the Threat, Vulnerability, and Testing program.
Gillman regularly speaks on the topics of cyber defense, security awareness and security key performance indicators. He is a CISSP, CRISC and holds the ITIL V3 Foundation certification in IT Service Management.

Michael Guggemos

Dan Mazzola
CABIT Director, Department of Information Systems Arizona State University
Daniel Mazzola serves as a clinical assistant professor responsible for instruction of advanced information systems courses for the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is also the Director for the Center for Advancing Business through Information Technology (CABIT). Prior to his full time appointment at ASU, Mazzola spent over 20 years as a technology evangelist, sales engineer and systems architect at companies such at Sun Microsystems and Datalink. Mazzola is also involved in the community. He serves as emeritus member of executive committee of the Arizona Technology Council, volunteers for FIRST Robotics, is founder of the Phoenix Java User's Group and the Arizona System Administration Guild, AZSAGE.
Dan obtained his B.S in computer information systems in 1988, his M.S. in information systems in 1990 and his Ph.D. in business administration in 1995. His three degrees were all earned at Arizona State University.

Tom Mendoza
Vice Chairman NetApp, Inc.
Tom Mendoza joined NetApp, Inc. in 1994 and was responsible for sales until becoming president in 2000. He then went on to become vice chairman in 2009.
Mendoza has given talks on the power of corporate culture and leadership all over the world to people in such diverse organizations as the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, CIO forums, Oracle’s Leaders Circle and Stanford University. In 2009 he was the co-recipient with NetApp Chairman Dan Warmenhoven of the Morgan Stanley Leadership Award for Global Commerce.
Mendoza holds a B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and is an alumnus of Stanford University’s Executive Business Program. In September 2000 Notre Dame renamed its business school the Mendoza College of Business after an endowment made by Tom and Kathy Mendoza.

Rich Owen

Rich Owen is the CISO at American Traffic Solutions and has over 30 years of experience in information protection. He started in the Army Security Agency, learning security from the “dark side.” Owen, JOHNNY SECURITY SEED®, created the security programs for Mission Operations at Johnson Space Center, NASA, the Texas Office of the Attorney General and Early Warning Services. He has also has provided security support to companies such as Dell, Amoco and the universities of Texas and Houston.
Owen has degrees in management and computer science from the University of Maryland and is a Distinguished Fellow and former international president of the Information Systems Security Association. He holds CISSP, CISM, CPP, CRISC, MBCI and IAM/IEM certifications.

Steve Patterson
VP, University Athletics & Athletic Director Arizona State University
Steve Patterson was named Arizona State University’s vice president for university athletics and athletics director in early 2012. Prior to his role as athletics director, Patterson served as COO for Sun Devil Athletics and as managing director of Sun Devil Sports Group. In that capacity, Patterson was responsible for all ASU athletic department business operations, development, and operation of current and new sports facilities.
Before coming to Arizona State, Patterson served as president of Pro Sports Consulting. He spent nearly a quarter of a century as an innovative and successful executive in the NFL with the Houston Texans, in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers, and in professional hockey with the Houston Aeros. He has built championship teams and designed, financed, built and run stadiums and arenas.
Patterson graduated with honors from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and is a graduate of UT’s law school.

Rick Patterson

Rick Patterson has served as the director for information security and compliance at PetSmart since 2011. Prior to joining PetSmart, Patterson was the director of security for Sidley Austin. His distinguished career in security includes eight years in the U.S. Secret Service and four years as a special agent in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division.
In addition to his role at PetSmart, Patterson is also currently an adjunct professor for DePaul University, where he has developed and instructed a graduate-level course on IT and physical security.
Patterson holds a B.A. in criminal justice from California State University-Fullerton, and an M.S. in computer, network and information security from DePaul University.

Alex Pilar

Pilar has been with Amkor Technology for more than 15 years. Chris Riley

Riley brings an outstanding success record to the position. Since joining RSA in 2004, he has held several leadership roles across multiple business units and customer markets. Most recently, he ran sales for RSA’s business in New England, tripling performance in four years.
Prior to joining RSA, Riley ran OEM sales at a number of software companies including IMLogic, which was acquired by Symantec. Riley is a graduate of Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts and earned an MBA from Northeastern University in 2003. He currently serves as vice chairman of the president’s Advisory Board at Merrimack College.

Ross is a results-driven, recognized security executive who brings a unique combination of business acumen and security expertise with more than 12 years of experience in information security. He holds multiple patents pending in the areas of information security assessment and optimization and is a co-author of Security Battleground: An Executive Field Manual. During his frequent speaking engagements, he shares his pragmatic security executive’s perspective. He is a strong proponent of building a sustainable lifecycle around risk activities that are efficient, measurable and executed with precision.

Aaron Sandeen

Aaron Sandeen is a visionary leader with more than 17 years of technology experience. Serving as the deputy director of the department of administration and state CIO, he oversees the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology office where he is responsible for leading the state’s technology vision and strategy. Appointed by Governor Janice K. Brewer, he drives the continuity of mission critical and essential systems to more than 130 state agencies with 31,000-plus state employees. Prior to his appointment, Sandeen worked in the Governor’s office in varying leadership roles where he successfully led key initiatives in technology, economic recovery, health information exchange and campaign propositions. Preceding his work with the state, Sandeen worked with industry leaders such as Intel, Microsoft, Syntellect and UnitedHealth Group. This extensive experience gives him a unique perspective and aids his vision of leapfrogging capabilities to transform state government.

Special Agent Paul M. Schaaf is a cyber agent assigned to the FBI Phoenix Division. He has a master’s degree in computer information systems and bachelor’s degree in finance. Schaaf worked in computer systems in the financial sector before joining the FBI in 2003. He has worked cyber, civil rights, fraud, extortion, intellectual property and innocent images cases in his career. Schaaf has the unique distinction of having the first “spam case” go to trial, which involved an international spam operation that operated out of four countries.

JD Sherry
Director of Public Technology & Solutions Trend Micro Incorporated
JD Sherry is director of public technology and solutions at Trend Micro, where he is responsible for growing the awareness of Trend Micro’s entire security portfolio aimed at protecting government networks and applications. Sherry has spent the past ten years in senior leadership roles. He has been responsible for engineering secure citizen to government (C2G), business to government (B2G) and government to government (G2G) transaction platforms. Sherry has significant experience in developing secure, scalable IT solutions designed to meet strict government and payment card regulations. Sherry has an extensive background with mobility platforms as well as implementing secure private and public clouds leveraging Trend Micro security solutions.
Prior to Trend Micro, Sherry spent nearly seven years with NIC as vice president of technology where he was responsible for NIC’s centralized technology and security strategy and operations. NIC is the leading eGovernment service provider for over half of 50 US states as well as many federal agencies, which processed nearly $18 billion in government transactions in 2011. Additionally, Sherry has held various leadership positions within Honeywell FM&T which assembles 85% of the non-nuclear components in nuclear weapons for the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration. He holds a MBA in IT from Jones International University and a B.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sherry has also previously acquired top secret clearance from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Caren Shiozaki has served as CIO for TMST, Inc. since 2007. Based in Santa Fe, Thornburg Mortgage was a premier residential mortgage lender that served prime and super-prime borrowers seeking jumbo and super-jumbo adjustable-rate mortgages. Prior to TMST, Inc., Shiozaki worked at Belo Corp as vice president and CIO. She was one of the recipients of the 2006 Dallas-Fort Worth IT Executive of the Year award, and is the secretary and treasurer for the Society for Information Management. Shiozaki earned a bachelor of arts degree in genetics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Robert Slepin

Robert Slepin brings strong strategic management skills, significant experience in population health and healthcare information systems, and an understanding of the critical role IT plays in enabling the transformation of a health care organization to his role as CIO.

Jonathan Young has served as the senior vice president of technology operations at Ancestry.com since 2011. Young joined the company in 2009 as vice president of development. From 2006 through 2009 he was vice president of technology and vice president of software, security, subscriptions and services at EarthLink. Prior to EarthLink, Young held a number of positions over 10 years with the Internet arm of Turner Broadcasting, including vice president of product development. He holds B.A. degrees in astrophysics and Asian Studies from Williams College.
