Information Systems Executive Forum of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan

The Information Systems Executive Forum is an activity of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. ISEF promotes leadership in information systems management by connecting the worlds of theory and practice. ISEF activities include:

  • Twice a year, full-day meetings where currently important IS management topics are discussed in-depth, incorporating the perspectives of academic researchers, product developers and industry practitioners
  • Membership in a community of peers who share common issues and concerns and who benefit from the opportunity to discuss new ideas with like-minded professionals
  • Dialog with faculty members, who can provide perspective on important topics and who actively solicit ideas for new research
  • Interaction with students through MBA/BBA team projects and summer internships and through company participation in IS courses and student functions
  • Participation in Special Interest Groups that bring members together with faculty in smaller working groups to discuss current topics of interest to members and to enable a sharing of experience, problems, and solutions
  • E-mail updates on recent news, articles, and research that member of the faculty believe to be important for Information Systems executives
  • Access to a members-only web site that provides information about meetings, news and publications of interest to IS executives, presentations from past meetings (when available), and contact information for members of the ISEF community
  • Opportunities to participate in research on major questions about the management, development, or business application of information systems

Established in 1968, the Society for Information Management (SIM) is the premier network for IT leaders comprised of nearly 3,000 members, including CIOs, senior IT executives, prominent academicians, consultants and other IT leaders. SIM is a community of thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital that is applied, and who explore future IT direction. In partnership with its 30 chapters, SIM provides resources and programs inspired by IT leaders for IT leaders that enable CIOs to further develop the leadership capabilities of themselves and the key and emerging leaders in their organizations. SIM provides the collective voice to advocate policy and legislation on behalf of the IT profession across industries.

SIM's mission is to support IT leaders through:
