THE CIO ASSOCIATION OF CANADA
The Chief Information Officer Association of Canada (CIOCAN) is an organization run by CIOs for CIOs. The organization provides professional development, sharing of best practices and networking opportunities; CIOs are empowering CIOs to drive organizational success! The CIO Association of Canada (CIOCAN) represents the interests of the information technology profession across Canada. We promote and communicate the value and contribution of the Chief Information Officer role in creating and executing business strategies that contribute to economic and social benefits in our companies and communities.
CIOCAN represents our 200 members and advocates on behalf of the CIO profession on key issues providing policy input at the federal and provincial levels of government with the goal of supporting the growth of the Information Technology sector and its professionals in Canada.
Information Technology (IT) plays a strategic role in today's society, driving the performance of organizations in all sectors of the economy. As the role of IT becomes more crucial to the effectiveness of the organizations, the role of the CIO has increased in importance in all sectors. This is especially the case as issues such as privacy and security impact private and public sector activities.
