Discussion Topic #1: Adopting End to End IT Services
Challenge: In an effort to become responsive and flexible, 55% of CIOs in a recent CEB survey said they will offer at least some end-to-end IT services by the end of 2012. These end-to-end IT services package together all the IT people, processes, technology, and information to support a specific business activity and are delivered using resources that cut across IT's functional towers (e.g., Applications, Infrastructure). However, defining, deploying, and managing end-to-end IT services is a significant challenge for many organizations.
This discussion, set up by some of the latest CEB research, will focus on how participants are defining and implementing the concept of IT services, addressing challenges and thinking about the evolution of their services strategy over time.
Discussion Topic #2: Optimizing your IT Talent Strategy
Challenge: Changes in the nature of demand for IT and business support are driving changes in requirements for IT talent with the right skills including technical (i.e. mobile development), functional (i.e. data architecture) and professional (i.e. business communications).
This discussion, set up by the latest CEB research, will focus on understanding where participants are experiencing the greatest skills gaps, how this is impacting both their workforce planning, and the most critical emerging roles and skills required to meet future demand.
