  • Gregory D. Bunch
    Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship University of Chicago Booth School of Business

    Greg Bunch brings years of practical experience as a general manager and entrepreneur to his classes. He is the founder and president of Masterplan International Corporation. Bunch works with Fortune 50, family, and start-up businesses in the areas of innovation and strategy. He was also a partner at Brandtrust, a brand strategy consultancy. Some of the companies he has worked with include: American Express, Danaher, ETS, Harley-Davidson, Hewlett-Packard, Kimberly-Clark, McDonalds and YUM!

    Bunch has served on boards and advisory boards of companies in financial services, retail, franchising and marketing.

    He has been a guest lecturer teaching entrepreneurial strategy at Wheaton College, IL. In addition, he has lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to strategy, creating customers and innovation. Civically, he was an alderman in West Chicago serving on committees for infrastructure, public safety and development.

    Bunch earned a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in philosophy and a masters in philosophy and religion from Harvard University.

  • Harry L. Davis
    Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management University of Chicago Booth School of Business

    Harry L. Davis teaches M.B.A. and executive education courses at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he has been on the faculty since 1963. Dr. Davis received an M.A. in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Northwestern University. His teaching and= research interests lie in the areas of strategy, leadership and creativity.

    Professor Davis served as Interim Dean in 2010 and Deputy Dean from 1983 — 1993.= During his tenure, he instituted many new programs and organizational changes, all of which were aimed at strengthening the learning environment for the students. The faculty instituted the Harry L. Davis Award in 1994 to recognize his contributions as Deputy Dean. The award, given annually, recognizes the graduating campus M.B.A. student who most exhibited creativity, a willingness to take risks, and a strong commitment to the school.

    Professor Davis created the New Product Laboratory in 1978, which was designed to complement the traditional lecture and case study curriculum by providing a real, action-oriented component to the M.B.A. program. Over its 20-year history, more than 50 companies have sponsored the laboratory, representing fields as diverse as package goods, high technology, durables and financial services.

    Professor Davis has served on several boards of directors in both the public and non-profit sectors. He currently is a Trustee of the National Opinion Research Center at The University of Chicago, a national organization devoted to large-scale social research in the public interest. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Argonne National Laboratory, one of the Department of Energy’s oldest and largest national laboratories for science and engineering research.

  • Allison Esenkova
    Partner Sense Corp

    Allison Esenkova is the Chief Strategy Officer and Partner at Sense Corp, a new breed management and technology consulting firm with more than 120 consultants and $20 million in annual revenues. Allison has over 15 years of experience helping organizations solve their toughest business problems, often enabled through innovative strategy, process, and technical solutions.

    Allison has developed and managed highly successful local and global implementation teams in the financial, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. Her expertise centers on program management functions, including facilitation of executive-level strategy, business process improvement, change management, and implementation planning, management, and control.

She completed graduate work at Stanford University, earning a National Science Foundation Fellowship for Outstanding Contribution to Science, Engineering, and Technology. Allison has a master’s degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business.

    Allison lives in Houston with her husband and two children. She enjoys serving the business community through the Greater Houston Partnership and supporting several local charitable organizations in leadership positions. Allison appreciates the vibrant visual and performing arts community in Houston and loves the outdoors.

  • Macario Gallegos
    Central Division Technology Leader Caesars Entertainment Corp.

    Macario Gallegos is Central Division Technology Leader for Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest gaming company headquartered in Las Vegas. In his role, Gallegos provides leadership for, and directs all facets of IT for 17 casino properties across the Midwest. Responsibilities include the implementation and support of technology-based solutions which drive efficiencies, improve the overall customer experience, increase employee productivity and/or grow revenues. During his 13 years with Caesars, Macario has held several operations & technology roles including Regional Director of IT, Assistant Director of Slot System Performance as well as Manager of IS. Prior to his current role, Macario served eight years of honorable service in the U.S. Marine Corps. His duties included installing, operating and maintaining a robust network of global communication systems in support of inter-continental military operations.

    Gallegos earned an M.B.A. from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from DeVry University. A respected industry thought leader, Macario was recently named “Most Influential Hispanics in IT,” by the Hispanic IT Executive Council. He is a board member of the Indiana United Way, serves as a mentor for the Hispanic Organization Promoting Excellence and is also President & Founder of the Leadership Institute for Teens.

  • Randy Krotowski
    VP & CIO Caterpillar Inc.

    Randy Krotowski is VP and CIO of Caterpillar Inc. He has respon-sibility for Caterpillar’s Global Information Services division, which includes the corporation’s IT systems and global security.

    Krotowski joined Caterpillar in February 2012, from Chevron Corporation where he was CIO for Chevron’s worldwide exploration and production business. He was responsible for the company’s global IT strategy and IT operations in 23 countries. During his 29-year tenure with Chevron, Krotowski held engineering, marketing and IT management positions in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to being named CIO, his career at Chevron included IT positions with responsibilities for Chevron subsidiaries in Canada, Latin America and global strategic planning for Chevron Corporation.

    Krotowski is a native of Toronto, Canada, where he graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He earned his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Krotowski is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and is a past board member for the Houston Food Bank. He serves on the CIO Leadership Council and the CIO Institute Advisory Board with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

  • Judy Lemke
    EVP & CIO Schneider National, Inc.

    Judy Lemke is Executive Vice President and CIO at Schneider National Inc., a leading provider of transportation, logistics and intermodal services. In this position, she leads the company's strategic technology, engineering and business transformation initiatives as a member of the executive team. Prior to joining Schneider, Lemke served as CIO of Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she was responsible for IT strategy and direction, alignment of technology and business objectives, execution of system-wide implementation programs, and oversight of critical IT initiatives in a dynamic, growing user environment.

    Prior to her work at the university, Lemke served as Vice President of the Midwest region at BORN Information Services Inc., an IT consulting firm, where she managed more than 500 consultants with responsibility for sales, customer relationships, contracts, branch and practice management, and recruiting. Under her leadership, the region's revenue increased by 100% in two years. Lemke also held several senior IT positions in an 18-year career with Medtronic, including director of IT for the Americas and international director of IT. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • Tanya Menon
    Visiting Associate Professor of Management & Organizations Northwestern University

    Tanya Menon studies how national culture affects people’s everyday assumptions and their patterns of decision making. She also studies how organizational cultures affect learning. This research examines how managers respond to new ideas, and particularly why they sometimes value knowledge from insiders, competitors and consultants differently. Her articles have appeared in Organization Science, Journal of Personality & Social Psychology, Harvard Business Review, Personality and Social Psychology Review, Management Science, and Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes among others.

    Menon earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Harvard University. Her advisor Chris Winship encouraged her to pursue a career in research, and she studied college-educated African Americans who worked in innercity communities under his direction. This research received the Thomas Templeton Hoopes Prize as one of the best senior theses at Harvard. Menon earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She was also the recipient of an American Marshall Memorial Fellowship, a Kauffman Foundation Grant for research on Entrepreneurship, and a Stanford Center for Conflict and
    Negotiation Fellowship.

    Menon was the winner of the 2006 Faculty Excellence Award at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for exceptional commitment to teaching as voted by students in the Evening MBA and Weekend MBA programs, and the 2007 Phoenix Award, voted by the class of 2007 for enriching the experience of students inside and outside the classroom.

  • Dennis Self
    VP, CIO Gilead Sciences, Inc.

    Dennis Self is VP and CIO for Gilead Sciences, Inc. since October 2011. Under his leadership, the IT team at Gilead is responsible for IT planning, governance, program/project management, enterprise applications, infrastructure and operations.

    Previously, Self served as SVP and CIO for Electronic Arts. As EA’s CIO, Self helped lead a number of company-wide, transformational efforts to enable EA’s direct to-consumer, online gaming service and to streamline EA’s traditional, console-based gaming business.

    Before joining Electronic Arts, Self held various positions at HP and worked as an IT strategy consultant for Andersen Consulting, A.T. Kearney and Deloitte Consulting.

    Self holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Management Information Systems from Old Dominion University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

  • Piyush Singh
    SVP & CIO Great American Insurance Company

    Piyush Singh is Senior Vice President and CIO of Great American Insurance Company, Inc. He is responsible for creating the vision and direction of American Financial Group’s IT strategy and operationally executing that vision to take the specialty insurer to the next generation. Singh holds a Master’s degree from the University of Delhi, an M.B.A. from Bradley University and CPCU designation.

    Singh was on the board of directors of International Accounting and Systems Association, Advisory Council of College of Business for Bradley University, Editorial Advisory Board of Insurance and Technology magazine and the Executive Committee of the Cincinnati Chapter of American Red Cross.

  • Timothy Theriault
    SVP & CIO Walgreen Co.

    Timothy J. Theriault is SVP and CIO for Walgreen Co. Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2010 sales of $67B. The company operates 7,670 drugstores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Walgreens provides nearly six million customers convenient, multichannel access to consumer goods and services, cost-effective pharmacy, health and wellness services and advice in communities across America. Since joining Walgreens, Theriault has restructured the IT organization to support the new company strategy and enable innovation. His extensive background in technology and innovation along with his business expertise is an asset to Walgreens as they heavily depend on technology to better understand the customer, enhance the online business and integrate new healthcare products that support the core retail activities.

    Before joining Walgreens in 2009, Theriault’s 25-year career at Northern Trust Corporation grew with increasing responsibility within the organization. Most recently at Northern Trust Corporation in Chicago, he was President of Corporate and Institutional Services with previous roles in operations and technology as EVP and CTO.

    Theriault earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Illinois State University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University Business School.

  • Keat Wilkins
    President Sense Corp

    Keat Wilkins is the President of Sense Corp, which he co-founded in 1996. Sense Corp is a new breed management and technology consulting firm that Keat has led from a four-man partnership to a firm with more than 120 consultants and $20M in annual revenues.

    Ask Keat about Sense Corp success, and he’ll tell you he’s most proud of two things: guaranteeing success for clients and creating a culture that attracts and retains the brightest people. The numbers tell the story best. The majority of Sense Corp business comes from repeat clients and referrals. Consultant retention is off the charts, with all of Sense Corp leadership remaining dedicated in excess of 10 years. To top it off, Sense Corp has won the ‘Best Places to Work Award’ for an unprecedented five years in a row.

    Keat’s passion for creating a new breed consulting firm stems from his experience hiring and managing consultants as an executive at Tyco Healthcare and Citicorp. He knew that consulting could be different; and, if corporations could access information more easily and effectively, their businesses would run better and be more profitable. With those goals in mind, he founded Sense Corp.

    Keat grew up in Texas and currently lives in St. Louis. He earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas. His interests outside of work are creative — building cars, riding motorcycles, cooking, cycling, and creating sustainable direct-service non-profits. Keat has served on many non-profit boards, and currently is a director for Wyman and Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club.

  • Craig Wortmann
    CEO, Sales Engine & Clinical Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship University of Chicago Booth School of Business

    Craig Wortmann is the Founder and CEO of Sales Engine, a firm that helps companies build and tune their sales engine. He has been a sales person and entrepreneur for more than 20 years. He spent his first year in sales being trained by IBM Corporation in the classical selling style and was the #2 performer in his year-long sales school class. Post-IBM, Wortmann covered three-quarters of the country selling to large retailers for a division of Dean Witter. After finishing business school at Kellogg, he joined a midsize consulting firm called the Forum Corporation and quickly became the firm’s new product launch and client recovery specialist.

    In 2000, Wortmann was recruited to join a start-up company called WisdomTools as its CEO. He ran and grew WisdomTools and then successfully sold the company to a larger firm in 2008.

    Another of Wortmann’s personalities (one is not enough) is that of professor. He designed and developed a course that he teaches called Entrepreneurial Selling for the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He also teaches one of the core entrepreneurship courses for Chicago Booth called Building the New Venture.

    Wortmann’s final personality is that of author. His recent book, “What’s Your Story?” looks at how leaders and sales professionals use stories to connect, inspire and overachieve. He is co-authoring his next book with Dr. Waverly Deutsch Ph.D., a former venture capitalist and professor of entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth. The book provides entrepreneurs and sales people the knowledge, skills and discipline it takes to succeed in the toughest, best job there is.
